Important Capital Administration Conference Call

I think it is fair to say that we are all shocked to see the news this week that the owners of Jay Peak Regional Center have been accused of running a fraudulent scheme and millions of dollars of investors’ funds have been misappropriated. Jay Peak is one of the original seven Regional Centers and this is a black eye on the industry, just as was the Chicago project a few years ago.

I listened to a webinar by the escrow company NES Financial. They described the escrow and financial reporting/tracking service they provide to RCs and developers to avoid financial problems and guard against fraud and misuse of funds.

NES also is partnering with an insurance company that will offer investors insurance for their EB-5 investments. It requires all investors in a project to sign up for the insurance with a one-time fee.

I have asked NES to speak to my clients about their escrow and capital administration services. I encourage all to listen in on what I believe will be a very interesting call.
