With the looming increase in the investment amount, we are seeing many investors looking at projects. There seems to be more non-Chinese investors than in the past.

China Quota 

The July 2016 Department of State visa bulletin shows no change for investors born in China. Only investors from China with a priority date on or before February 15, 2014 may obtain a visa number and complete their immigration. The EB-5 visas for fiscal year 2016 will likely be used in September. Fiscal year 2017’s numbers become available on October 1^st.

Immigration in the Media 

The anti-immigrant political talk after the Orlando massacre is most disturbing. I am especially saddened by the assassination of British MP Jo Cox, an advocate for refugee children. In the past, I have helped many refugee children. A number of my friends in the UK have expressed their shock and are saddened by the killings in London and in Orlando.

All the anti-immigrant hate is not good for the EB-5 program. But still, people want to immigrate to the U.S. It appears the economy may be slowing, which will make EB-5 funding for projects more important.
