The USCIS has issued new I-829 receipts extending conditional permanent resident
green cards for 48 months beyond the expiration date of the card. The new receipts
extend the card for employment authorization and international travel.  
 
At this time, I-829s for EB-5 conditional resident immigrants are being processed by the
USCIS extremely slowly. There are over 11,000 on file and USCIS is only processing a
few hundred each quarter. I regularly file mandamus actions on behalf of clients to
compel a decision on I-829s. The government usually then decides the applications as
there is a statute requiring a decision within 90 days of filing. Please let me know if you
