A student on an F-1 visa may now file an expedite request for the following work
permits:

- Pre-completion OPT
- Post completion OPT
- 24-month STEM extension
This expedite procedure is only available for already-pending I-765 applications until
April 3, when the expedite rule will be expanded to also apply to new I-765 applications.
The expedite request (Form I-907) may be filed online or by mail. The USCIS filing fee
is $1,500.
Students should be sure to file OPT applications on time and be sure they are properly
filed so they are not denied. USCIS rarely will reverse a denial for a late filing. Students
should attend their university/college OPT seminars.
